This weekend the Market is going to be electrifying! Whether you need to recharge your body, home or soul, this Saturday we got you covered. Come and fuel your body with local farm fresh food, recharge your soul with Deb Gorman and B+ and power up your home with some good green energy. Sounds intriguing? Then read on!!
If your feeling a little sluggish or somewhat drained, just spend a few moments this Saturday with Den Gorman. She has an amazing story and her positive outlook is contagious. When her husband, Pete, was diagnosed with acute lymbostic leukemia and given a 25 percent chance of survival, Deb says she dropped to the floor. In August 2007 Peter received a stem cell transplant at the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, Massachusetts. His brother, Bill was his donor and saved his life! In the process, his blood type changed from A-positive to B-positive.

Seeing how important stem-cell transplants are, Deb Gorman found a new passion: She started a company called, appropriately, B+, which makes jewelry and T-shirts, a portion of the proceeds go to the Stem Cell/ Bone Marrow Transplant programs at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
“Be positive; that’s always been our family motto.” As a family, grandparents, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, aunts and uncles, we rallied together with the incredible help from friends and talented doctors.

Two years later our family is a stronger, healthier and a more grateful family than ever before. Come and meet Deb, let her positive attitude infect you, check out her local hand made jewelry and help ease the next family’s cancer journey.
Deb knows first hand and will tell you herself. “You have the power and strength to overcome anything.”

Heavy Gauge Tomato Cage. (Say that 3 times fast!)
Heavy Guage Tomato Cage
It’s kinda hard to get excited about a tomato cage, but allot of folks who see these heavy duty tomato cages are doing just that. These guys will hold up your tomato plants even if the tomatoes get as big as a watermelon! They have been flying out of the Nursery all week, and people have been commenting on how finally, someone has done a tomato cage right!
Ok these guys are not to win any awards for making in the fashion statement department. And there is a chance that your neighbors will look at you funny, but these Hand Rakes work. A customer requested them a few weeks back and we got some extra to use when we tidy up the Nursery. They work pretty good, and are great for small jobs or those tight corners where a rake just wont fit.
We got a new tools into the Nursery this week, they are Pro-Lite tools from Radius Garden. These tool include Bulb Auger’s and Plant Transplanter’s. They are heavy duty, made of quality materials, professional grade and very ergonomic. We have use them out in the field for a few days and, so far, they are living up to their reputation.
So come and get energized this Saturday at the Market and all weekend long at the Nursery. If nothing above has appealed to you, then come down on a Sunday (when the Nursery is a little quilter) and just stroll around to see a sampling of what nature has to offer. The absolute beauty of the plants, shrubs and trees available at Gossett Brothers Nursery is enough to inspire, calm and power you up. Come, wander and enjoy!!
On Saturday, October 17th, Gossetts Farm Market welcomes Holistic Health Counselor Lisa Miller. Lisa will teach us how prepare simple soups using fresh, local ingredients from the Market that will get your body ready for the chill of winter. Show up anytime between 11am-1pm and bring your family!
The Katonah Green Chef Demonstration Series runs at Gossetts Farm Market every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m
What is holistic health counseling? Holistic health counseling treats each person as the individual that they are. What works for one person may not work for another.
Lisa works with the concept of primary foods and secondary foods. Primary foods are the things in your life: exercise, relationships, career and spirituality. Secondary foods are the foods you eat. You can eat the healthiest, cleanest diet in the world, but if you’re miserable in your relationship or unfulfilled in your career you will not be healthy.
Being healthy doesn’t take as much time as you make think. It actually gives you more time and energy. How? By eating well and leading a balanced life you will gain energy, decrease stress, think more clearly, rev up your metabolism, feel more confident and find time to do the things you love. You’ll feel amazing! Click on the Wellness logo above to see Lisa Millers website.
At Gossetts Farm Market we enjoy finding local talent who love to share their gifts. So besides offing you some of the best organic food venders and craftsmen in the area, we also present you with opportunities to enhance your lifestyle.
